The Vidalia City Schools makes it a practice to secure highly qualified employees needed to operate an effective and efficient school system.
It is the practice of the Vidalia City Schools to accept applications for employment continuously for all positions. Applications on file are considered current for a period of one year from the date of application and will be considered as vacancies occur. Applicants may submit application to the Board of Education office by printing the appropriate application and submitting the completed application with supporting documentation to the address below. No faxed applications will be accepted.

As per O.C.G.A. 20-2-211.1, a criminal record check will be conducted at or prior to employment on every person who is employed by the Vidalia City Board of Education for the first time to fill either a full-time or part-time certified, classified or substitute position. The acceptability of the criminal record check will be at the discretion of the superintendent.
Under Georgia Code 20-2-211 (a), "All teachers, principals, other certificated professional personnel, and other personnel of a local unit of administration shall be employed and assigned by its governing board on the recommendation of its executive officer. Minimum qualifications for employment of all personnel may be prescribed by the State Board of Education unless otherwise provided by law."
The Vidalia City Board of Education provides numerous employee benefits to the employee. Vidalia City Board of Education also participates in the Teacher Retirement System, Public School Employee Retirement and Social Security (for eligible positions ONLY)
The Cafeteria Plan, under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue code, allows employees to put eligible benefits on pre-tax basis.
