BOE Sets Tentative Millage Rate

The Vidalia City Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2021 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes for Montgomery County by 2.36 percent. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 14.852 mills, an increase of .342 mills for the Montgomery County portion. Toombs County's millage rate will not require an increase.

Vidalia City Schools Receive State Recognition!

The Georgia Department of Education has awarded the Vidalia City School System with the title of 2020-21 Reward Schools – (the Title I schools making the most progress in improving student performance.) J.D. Dickerson Primary School was listed as one of only 157 schools in 77 school districts identified as Reward Schools.

Vidalia City Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Brandon Boston as the new Principal at J.D. Dickerson Primary School. Boston, who has served as the Assistant Principal at J.R. Trippe Middle School for the past five years, replaces Brenda McLain, who moves to the Central Office.
