2021 Vidalia City Schools Retirees
Eleven Honored for Service by Vidalia Board of Education!

Eleven longtime employees who are retiring at the end of the year were honored at the May Vidalia Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday. The group that includes Educators and Central Office Staff, Paraprofessionals, Lunchroom staff, and Transportation Staff have accumulated 297 years of service.

Nutrition Named 2020 State Vision Program!

The Vidalia City School System’s School Nutrition Department was recently commended by the Georgia Department of Agriculture for “excelling in meeting the 2020 Vision for School Nutrition.”

JDD Adaptive Playground Equipment
New Playground Equipment for JDD!!

The Vidalia City Special Education Department recently purchased Adapted playground equipment to accommodate and support students with disabilities at JDD. This playground helps foster communication, motor, social, cognitive, and adaptive skills for students.

History Classes Explore Black History

Students at Vidalia High School enrolled in the Dual Enrollment program through Southeastern Technical College remembered and honored important African-Americans who have made key contributions during the history of the United States.

VHS Classes Combine for Food Truck Project

Two Vidalia High School classes combined recently to present a “Food Truck Festival” at the school. Anna Helms’ Business Tech Entrepreneurship class and Amanda Mosley’s Food Science classes became one to teach students how to start a food truck from the ground up.

George is VFW State Teacher of The Year

During the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) annual meeting in Vidalia on Saturday morning, Vidalia High School History Teacher Bobby George was awarded the VFW State Teacher of the Year. George, who VFW Ladies Auxiliary member Shirley Curl says "goes above and beyond," was also named the VFW's Regional Teacher of the Year.
