After 20 years of service Vidalia City Schools After School Program Director Debbie Jones is retiring. Jones was honored by co-workers with breakfast on her last day and said it had been a great experience to work in the system, “I have made so many good friends over the years, and we have seen a lot of growth and good things going on. But it’s time for me to cut back and enjoy life a little bit. I will miss everyone, but I promise not to be a stranger.

Jones began at the system as a bookkeeper before transitioning into her current role seven years ago. And April Clark, Assistant to the Superintendent of Vidalia City Schools, expressed thankfulness and a job well done on behalf of the other staff members. “On behalf of the board of education staff, we would like to thank Debbie Jones for 20 years of service to the students in the Vidalia City Schools after school program.  Debbie began with the system as the bookkeeper and then became the Director of the After Schools Program seven years ago.  She has always had a heart for the students and strived for their best care!  The Vidalia Board of Education staff have been blessed to have Debbie as part of our team and a valued member of the school system.  Once an Indian, Always and Indian!”
