Johnson Named to GSU 40 Under 40 Class of 2023!
Sally D. Meadows Assistant Principal Michael Johnson has been named to the Georgia Southern University's Alumni Association "40 Under 40" Class of 2023. The Georgia Southern University Alumni Association gives out the honor and "recognizes young alumni that are leading the way in business, leadership, community, educational and/or philanthropic endeavors."
The 2009 graduate of Vidalia High School, who holds a B.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a B.A. in Music Education from Georgia Southern as well as an Educational Leadership degree from West Georgia, was honored to be selected for the prestigious award. "I'm honored to be selected as Georgia Southern's 40 Under 40 for the Class of 2023. I earned two degrees from GSU, which impact the work I do each day, education, and serving my community. This recognition reaffirms the work I have been blessed to do!"
Vidalia Superintendent of School Dr. Garrett Wilcox said that the award for Johnson is both exciting and deserved at the same time, "We are extremely excited for Mr. Johnson and the recognition from GSU. This honor recognizes Mr. Johnson's professional, personal, and community contributions, and we are fortunate he chose to return home and be a part of the Vidalia City School System."
Johnson, who also has served as Assistant Principal at J.R. Trippe and is a Leadership Georgia Alum, said that the award is special and he is honored to have received the recognition and hopes to continue serving as called, "I am proud to represent my family, job, my GSU Family, and the Vidalia Community. I look forward to continue serving as God orders my steps!"
